"We had an escrow that opened on Monday and closed by Friday, without a hitch! Docs were received at 4:45 Thursday afternoon, Jennifer stayed late to audit the file, buyer signed at 5:45. Jennifer & Kirstin came in early Friday morning to package the docs and they were in the lender’s hands by 8:30 am. Another successful closing!”

Recently we had the good fortune to have a transaction with an elderly client. I say that in all sincerity! What a wonderful individual who had to sell her home to move to an assisted living facility. She was concerned about the escrow process. Not only was she moving from a home that she had lived in for years, but she also had a medical condition, macular degeneration, that affected her eyesight. Reading documents and putting them thru her “document reader” was a time consuming process. Representatives of our company met with her and her real estate agent and went thru the documents line by line. We discussed the transaction with her and gave her hints for a smooth transaction. We were able to notarize various documents for her so that she did not have to make a trip to her bank.

Alas, that escrow cancelled, but fortunately we opened her escrow again because the client felt so comfortable with our staff and services. The next meeting was a little quicker but we still had the pleasure of her company for a couple of hours. These situations don’t happen on a regular basis, but it is good to know that your escrow provider can assist with any special needs you or your clients may have.

“We opened a “rush” transaction. The escrow was to close within 10 days of opening. The sellers were leaving town the day after escrow was opened. The client was traveling in a rented RV by his son for his last trip to Oregon (due to a terminal illness). It was very difficult for the client to get around and to get paperwork notarized. Many notaries may have been concerned about his mental capacity, but since we had spoken to him several times on the phone and in speaking to him when his son brought him by in the RV we were able to notarize his signature with confidence knowing that he fully understood the impact of his act. He was a lovely man whose whole life was drastically changed by an awful disease. We were happy to assist him with the sale of his property and make him feel comfortable with the paperwork and the process. ”

“I talked to Irene today, and she said that she has worked with (another) Escrow company for 20+ years and her experience with Elite was better than any other she has had! She loved the fact that we emailed our status reports regularly to keep everyone up to date.”
